North of G 2365 [sic! G 2366] is the entrance of a tomb, two stones (inscribed) of which were seen on November 1. [ILLUSTRATION] This turns out to be a small mastaba with inscribed stela, name [GLYPHS] [Hetepkau, G 2410] built against another larger mastaba lying still further north.

Yom-el-waqfa. No work.
Presented me with four sheep, sugar cane, sweets and other things, according to custom.

Wednesday, November 20, 1912

Ed-eed-el-kabir. No work.
Fisher and West went to Saqqara. Murray to dinner.

Thursday, November 21, 1912

Clearing northwards from G 2353, G 2360, and G 2371. Small mastabas and denuded larger mastabas.

In G 2400 A as basket burial unusually well preserved, such as were often found at Girga (Naga-ed-Deir).

Friday, November 22, 1912

Wreszinski came in the morning to discuss material for his book on daily life, wants to use scenes in the Giza mastabas. Informed me of the importance of Kerman-Dafufa in Upper Nubia.

Work proceeding as yesterday. All the mastabas are embedded in a hard layer of debris (gravel, stone chips, potsherds, etc.) covered with a light layer of sand. There are several periods,
