(1) Street G 7500
On the surface the men are now clearing the west of the street at about 8 meters south of the north face of G 7510. They are also clearing the door of G 7523 and near the surface west and southeast of the mastaba.
G 7523 is a fair-sized mastaba of stone (? Dynasty 6). To the southeast of the door leading (?) to its interior chapel and in a wall facing east there is the lower part of a finely painted stela bearing the names of the man [GLYPHS] [Iby] who is also called [GLYPHS] [Sedaf]. From the debris about 6 meters southeast of this stela was found a fragment of a door jamb [25-2-1037] bearing traces of painting and the inscribed text [ILLUSTRATION/GLYPHS]. This clearly belongs to this mastaba of Yby.
Work in the pits is as follows:
G 7509 E: Pit clear. 1070 deep. Chambers west - south.
G 7509 O: Pit clear. Shallow grave. Blocked chamber on south.
G 7509 P: Cleared. 300 deep.
G 7509 Q: Clearing pit. Down 400 in robbers' debris.
G 7521 A: Cleared. 550 deep. Chamber south.
G 7521 B: Cleared. 560 deep. Chamber west.
G 7521 C: Clearing pit. Down 280 in disturbed debris.
G 7522 A: Cleared.
G 7522 B: Cleared. Chamber on south.
G 7523 A: Clearing pit. Down 485. Chamber on west.
G 7523 X: Down 150 in pit.
G 7610 P: Down 750 in robbers' debris.
G 7610 R: Late decayed wooden coffin containing body in chamber on east.
G 7610 S: Down 120 in pit.
G 7610 T: Clearing pit. Down 550 in dirty debris.
G 7610 U: Cleared. Pit 480 deep. Chamber on south.
G 7620 X: Cleared.
G 7632 A: Cleared.
G 7641 C: Down 1005. Four chambers. Dirty robbers' debris.
(2) G 7510
Work has now recommenced upon this mastaba several men being engaged in clearing above the interior chapel.
(3) G 7000 X
This morning there had been revealed below the layer of rough boulders cemented together a layer of 3 cm of fine white cement [= plaster // GAR] down to 95 cm below the top of the pit on north. This was removed at 8:30 a.m. and there was found a fine layer of
