(5) Avenue G 2
Began clearing eastward of street G 7200 and began loading point of street G 7200 into the space between G 7320 and G 7330.
At sunset avenue G 2 was clear from street G 7000 to street G 7200 and showed two distinct Old Kingdom floors:
(a) floor, Ptolemaic Roman period. Blackened. On an old surface of decay weathered to a slope down from west to east. This had been broken along G 7120 S, G 7130 N, and G 7220 S by modern theft of stone, but not along the crude brick casing of G 7230.
(b) floor of Dynasty 4 on hard layer of masons debris. The casing in all cases remains unfinished below this floor. The floor of the crude brick casing of G 7230 is a few cm higher than the old and that casing is perhaps later than the others.
