Thursday January 21, 1926 (continued)

(1) G 7000 X (continued)
a) The masons who closed the doorway with masonry helped themselves.
b) The whole burial was formerly in another tomb and was transferred to this [secret // GAR] tomb.
I believe that the real reason is that this is a reburial but the theft of masons may have added to the confusion.
The irregular course of the lower part of the shaft is due to the fact that it descends between two cracks in the limestone. The layer of limestone between has been cut away, and walls north and south dressed in part. The chamber is cut in the same rock to the south.

Dunham remained to take a record of the course of limestone blocks exposed last year. Afterwards Mohammedani took a photo (underexposed). Said reblocked the doorway and he and Dunham came up about 5 p.m. Mahmud el Meyyit and his men took over the guard for the night.

(2) Street G 7000 S (south)
Work went very slowly in this street owing to the number of men occupied on pits and on G 7000 X. Clearing G 7050 east face, pit and chamber.

(3) G 7050
Clearing the east face of G 7050 and worked out the hollow in the mound. Exposed the mouth of Pit A denuded to about C2 and filled with dirty mixed debris.
Also exposed remains of offering chamber of white stone.
