Thursday, September 21, 1939
Mohammedani went in and photographed the stone found east of G 5280. He found east of that (short distance) a broken stele in two fragments, and on the highest part of the stele inscription in sunk relief. It was found as a roofing stone of a shaft. He photographed it and left all in place to expose the numbers of the mastabas each one belong to and after that to be removed.

East of this mastaba, or between it and G 4980. In the street, to expose the lining of G 2165 and the shafts for the map. Limestone debris, rubble and sand from the dump of Dr. Junker above and G 4980 and running to north. Also we built a wall west of G 4980 in the street to put the debris inside. Lining of the mastaba not yet cleared.

East of the mastaba in exposing the lining of G 2165. Sand, limestone debris and rubble. Exposed part of the lining of G 2165 on south. The rest of the lining not yet exposed.

East of that mastaba in exposing the lining of G 2165. Sand, limestone debris and rubble. Remains of lining not yet exposed. We built a rubble wall between G 4980 and G 2180 to prevent the debris from fallen off in the place we are clearing.

East of that mastaba in removing the (Junker's debris) debris to expose the lining of G 2165. Sand, limestone debris and rubble. exposed the lining on north and not yet on east.

On top of the mastaba in removing the debris, to expose the lining on east. Limestone debris, rubble and sand. Exposed the lining on south and some of shafts. Lining on east not yet exposed.

Tuesday, October 3, 1939
Day of rest.
The Dr. ordered to give Mohammedani and Ali Mahmoud Mohsen a baksheesh. Fifty-one piasters for Mohammedani and seventeen for Ali Mahmoud. Their baksheesh for the four inscribed fragments found by them in the old excavations.
