This plan shows the division of the south half of the inner court ("fore court") into blocks 4 x 4 meters for excavation. The gangs are numbered from 1 to 5 and each gang receives on block at a time. The crosses (x) show the blocks excavated up to this evening. The circles (o) show the blocks in which work is now going on. Gangs 1 and 3 are working in partnership.

Fragments of statues, stone vessels, flints, pottery, etc. as usual.

Finished blocks marked (#) on page 26 and began blocks marked (check-mark) on page 26.

In the middle of the court about 1 meter from central ramp, in the bottom layer (drift sand) a very fine copper vase [MFA 11.744] about 35 cm high [ILLUSTRATION].
In room 320 in layer above floor, a mass of alabaster fragments of a large statue - knee, ankle, back of head, etc. The face found above room III 12 seems to belong to this statue.

In room 323, a fragment of a beautiful alabaster stela [MFA 11.716] [ILLUSTRATION]: "great feasts-" [in pencil] "sm-priest Ra-wer" [end in pencil].

Many other fragments of statues, stone vessels, were found, also pottery.

All but three sections of page 26 are finished. Have begun removing floors of rooms down to floor level of Dynasty 4.

Under room 302, a number of pottery vessels - evidently offering vessels. These dated pots form a very valuable set of Dynasty 4 ware because absolutely dated. It is enlightening from a technical standpoint to place these pottery vessels, alongside the stone vessels and the statuary.
