(a) decayed wood, east-west fibers, both brown and black, some of it from (L). Pincers.
(b) wood dust, plaster, gesso, etc. Wet brush.

No. 395: Attempted to remove (Z)-4. Took (1)-(11) inlays and strips from (Z)-4. At this point it became clear that 395 was tangled in wing (396) and that the front side of wing must be removed first.
