On south of mastaba. In the street. Drift sand and stones. Running on mud brick above the rock in the street on west. Street not yet cleared.

Cleaning the place for the cars east of the lower house.

South of the mastaba in the street on west. Sand, dubsh, and underneath limestone debris. Potsherds and black debris. Cleared the street on mud floor on the rock. Only east of the street not cleared. Exposed the casing of the mastaba on south lined with stones.

Some guards cleaning around the house and inside the court for the cocktail.

On south of the mastaba. In the street on west. Sand, dubsh and debris. Street on east not yet cleared.

G 1408+9 SII: We said before that we clean this serdab on mud floor on the rock. We imagine for the mud floor and we broke it we found underneath it the shaft F. Lined with mud brick. The east half appears to us form serdab and the other half the west half run underneath the stone building of mastaba G 1408+9. Shaft left for photo.

A telegram came from Ahmed Sayed [Ahmed Said Ahmed] say that the guards will come tomorrow morning at Giza station.

Day of rest.
Nine guards arrived from Quft today. They are: Ahmed El Mezlef [Ahmed el-Mizlef], Ali Hani, Ali Mahmoud Issa, Otman Yuness, Barbari Ahmed, Hassan Abu El Yosre [Hassan Abu el-Yusr], Mahmud Abd El Aal, Mohamed Tantawi, Mussa Kalil [Mousa Khalil]. Darwish works from the beginning of the month.

On south of the mastaba. In the street between this mastaba and Dr. Junker's mud brick mastaba. Sand, limestone debris and dubsh. To clear the street on east and to expose the east corner of mastaba G 1408+9 [= G 1408+1409]. Street not yet cleared.

Today nine guards left for Quft. They are: Mahmud Abd El Aziz, Mogairby Mohamed [Mogareby Mohammed], El Shater Ahmed, Mobarek Mohamed, Gad El Mula Haggar, Horagi Mohamed, Abd El Azim Tantawi, Said Hassan, Amer Ilaian.

On south of the mastaba. In the street. Sand, limestone debris and dubsh. To clear the street on east and to expose the corner of mastaba G 1408+9 [= G 1408+1409]. Street not year cleared on east.

The Mudir ordered Hamid Kenawi, Yassen Ali [Yasin Ali], and Mostapha Abu El Hamd [Mustapha Abu el-Hamd] to go to Syria with Mr. Lake.
